118 goals in 216 league appearances is testament to the 24-year-old's goalscoring ability and his Liverpool highlights, after scoring on his debut against Wimbledon, include a match-turning double strike in the 2001 FA Cup final.

thats pretty impressive, give the lad some credit!! Hope he does well out there

This makes me laugh all you lot slag him off BUT when he plays for England you love his arse and cheer him on, bunch of hypocrites.

Owen has an excellent scoring record for both club and country and will end being Englands highest scoring goalscorer ever.

I personally didnt want him to go but if he does then you cant stop him, real madrid have more strikers than us so it will be harder for him to get first team football with Raul and Ronaldo always starting and Morientes on the bench.

I reckon he should've stayed with us as we are starting to build up a decent team/squad with our new manager, Gerrard staying and Baros and Cisse up front unlike Real who are just shite who are in so much debt and can never hold onto a manager or win anything recently no matter how much money they throw around!!!

For him though this is a good move, somewhere for him to 'prove' to all the critics that he is a World Class player.

For Liverpool this is excellent - Its gives Rafa the chance to build HIS team, and for the past couple of seasons Liverpool haven't been a championship challenging side, which they SHOULD be! It also goes to show that no player is bigger than the club.

Hopefully over the next while there will be more good buys, and more of the poor performers will be shown the door at Anfield...

The revolution is beginning - and not before its time!

I still think we should've held out for more money 8million and Nunez is such a bargain.
