was following one for about 10miles yesterday, found a bit of private road and blasted past it (mates car, not mine ) the bloke driving it put his foot down but we kept accelerating away for a second or two, then he must of switched down a cog as it stuck the same distance (around 10 cars lengths behind by now) untill about 150mph-ish.... was well impressed!
Not the most attractive car ever, although they do look nice from the side... bit like the astra coupe...
Anyone know how many will be sold in england?
Any stats for the VXR jobbie?

Just read the article, the engine is running 600 brake without the restrictors that have to be there for regulations.

well the only thing I can find on the Vauxhall site says this :
"The new Vauxhall Monaro will be available from the spring of 2004 powered by a 5.7 litre V8 engine developing 328hp and 347lbs/ft of torque"
which aint quite 580bhp....
but then I dunno if thats the VXR or not

sounds a little more realistic now!!
Well like I said, this dude did very well up against an M3 Evo being driven to its full potential.
It was no match around roundabouts and stuff (probably cos the bloke driving the M3 is an absolute head-case!) but straight line speed I would say is closely matched (he still lost )

Fair enough, i thought 300 grand seemed a lot for a road car from vauxhall!
