The 27-year-old has two years remaining on his present Anfield contract but looks set for a move to pasteurs new after Liverpool accepted a bid from the London club.
Charlton Athletic and Everton are also believed to be ready to make a move for Murphy but neither club at this stage have made a bid for the player.
Liverpool FC Head of press Ian Cotton said: "I can confirm that Liverpool have accepted an offer from Tottenham Hotspur for Danny Murphy."
