thinking about this a lot recently, wanna work from home possibly trading over ebay to start with, thinking about car audio equipment. Need to know, where you found your supplliers, what are the terms you have with them etc. Any any other info that could help me decide if im going to do it and how to go about it.

Cheers

Computing category is a nightmare as well but I suppose something fairly niche like Macs is a better bet.

fair play to you if you try to start up your own business but i think the market is a bit saturated for car equipment etc and defintily for computing, maybe not as much for mac's but then again what % of people actually have one?

The questions your asking only seem to be relevant to that type of job, and not general self employed questions.

e.g asking where you would buy cheap audio equiptment, asking where you'd buy 2nd hand macs etc
All this stuff is things you'd have to research yourself.

As for terms of suppliers, well it takes years and years of buying to get on good terms with a supplier.
As your business grows, so will the amount of orders you do, and the more of a relationship you will get with the supplier.
The more you order and the more often you order the supplier will offer a discount and a bigger discount you'll get.

Hope that kinda helps?

all i can say is plan way ahead.
money, taxes, jobs to fall back on, suppliers, customers, advertising.

my mate is on his second business, he got his site setup, looks good, cost him a bomb and now cant use the business as he has no adverts to put in it. his business it like an auto trader type thing.
just waiting for it to pick up now.

it's mega mega mega difficult m8 - far too much competition - and getting trade accounts at supplier's is night mare - i've got 4 with between £1000 and £3000 credit but getting anysort of credit is serious difficult - and u need to put in serious order's month on month - go into something specialist - market is saturated with ppl selling shit computer hardware - ain't saying tht's wht ur gonna do - but i'd specialise (wht i had to do to stay afloat)

Its all a matter of profit percentage and turnover. Turnover is biggest key really and to get that you need low profit percentage.
