Went out last night for a spin in his Clio 1.8 RSI 8V. Has a magnex on it and thats all.
Was great fun compared to my Corsa 1.4 16V Sport. I was finding any excuse to overtake!!

I'm curious about the 1.8 16V now, as I've heard these are a lot quicker.

What are people views on the the 1.8 16V and Clio Williams??

0-62 in 7.7 book time.

The Clio Williams are nice cars !
Renault did made copies Williams 2 and 3, which don't hold their value as well and don't have as high tuning.

But the Original Williams dose.....

For Sale

Think it's the 1.8 16V for me. Can sell my car and all the bits and pick a good one up 4 the same amount.

Would like a set of 15s or 16s, lower then spend the rest on performance I reckon.

Yeah but with only 400 made, and half of them have been written off, that makes the Williams rare, and truly worth owning one.

Plus they are lot faster than the 1.8s

16v, good quick little cars, mates one is always going wrong, its on rear brakes setup no. 3 cos the calipers kept binding, which in turn fucked the discs which inturn required new bearings as the bearings are pressed into the discs.
forget most diy on the 16v engine as there is sod all room to work.
nice car though

1.8 16v are ok but i'd prefer the 2ltr, i've raced a couple of 1.8's in the corsa and beaten them although there quick off the line and upto about 60 - 70 there wasnt much in it.

the 1.8 16V is about 130bhp the williams is a 2.0 16V with 163 bhp i think so not much difference but as most people say they aint the most reliable cars to come from france, but if theyve been looked after you should be alrite

it is the same engine in all 3 variants thus the tuning is the same, i have a copy of EVO somewhere with a feature on the cilo williams, Alex ill see if i can dig it out for you m8.

Also it has 150bhp not 163bhp, However the 2.0 is blessed with more torque and pulls a lot lower in the rev range. you really have to thrash the 1.8 to get it to go.

They are all at least 10 years old now if you find one owned by an enthusiast who has maintained the vehicle using genuine/performance parts then you are laughing.
