Insurance is due mid July, so thought i'd get in early phone about.
I'm 20 (had license since January 2002)
2 years NCB
Megane Coupe Sport 1.6e 1998
TS50 - 3 points
10,000 Miles a year
Last year its was 810 (Exhaust/lowered/alloys)
So I phoned up...
Norwich Union Direct (whom I'm with right now) - £932.35
Performance Direct - Wouldnt Insure me due to age/points
General Insurance - £1100
Admiral - £1300 (without mods)
CIA - £820
One company even asked me to be honest, due to the car, my age, and the number plate "M3XED" is the car modified?
So what the fcuk am I going to do now, what other companies are worth trying?

If you owned a Vauxhall I would say Brentacre.

i am insured with norwich union on my parents name on my corsa sri, the sent a renewal through the post and wanted £475 i think, did an online quote and it was about £100 less, in the end we paid £320 with exhaust mod, i am 19 and have own car and my mum had 3yrs nbc. Do an online quote and see what it says, then ring them with the quote number and ask about the mods to the car

i called HIC for a quote today.
was on hold for ages, but when i got through, the guy was very helpfull, doing the best to bring it down.
last year paid 1100 tpft for civic coupe vti, then it went up 130 for the calibra halfway through the year, then up a bit again when i got the gsi (??)
renewal from quoteacar.co.uk was 640 on the gsi,
HIC came up 680, free cover for upto 1500 worth of mods, and they'll take the quote from donor car as a base for after the transplant.
quote on the cally came up 780, so this is pretty good.
said he'd match the 640, and it should go up to around 800 aftre engine swap.
i'm 22, 2yrs ncb, accident 3years ago, sp50,
