Ok basically i just got my new Mint card,

Its intrest free until next year so i have decided to get my interior done now, and just pay it back over the months whilst its intrest free,

My problem is i can only pay the trimmer in cash or by cheque,

Bummer!

So is there anyway i can get money from my credit card?

Cheers

Should be able to withdraw money from a cashpoint.

Have you received your PIN? Give Mint a call and find out if you get charged interest on cash as the interest-free offer may only apply to purchases.

i doubt the cash will be interest free TBH, but then i could easliy be wrong

best bet is to ring them up and ask them to send you some "credit card cheques" then pay the trimmer with that and pay it back like you were planning to anyway

Yeah it does only cover purchases :/

it says in one of the 1000 leaflets they sent me,

and yes i have my pin also.

I was thinking of purchasing the retrim amount in postal orders on my credit card

then getting somone to cash them for me,

then i would have cash,

however im unsure if this would work :/

I thought that the CC cheques were also treated as cash unless they're doing a promotion.

So basically they are a cheque which they write out and once the person who you give the cheque to cash's it it just gets put onto your balance?

Could be a way of doing it

why won't the trimmer take credit card. They normally charge them a 2% free, but thats only 20quid on a grand so shouldn't be too much of a problem. Get more consumer protection paying by card as well. have a word with him.

they treat a credit card chq as cash so you will pay interest..higher than normal for cash/chq

If you withdraw cash it'll be charged at around 20% as with most CC companys, a CC cheque will be charged at a similar rate as i found out when i paid my phone bill with one.

Not sure on cashback from Tesco etc because its not classed as a purchase when it comes up on the statement

You will be charged more. Best you can hope for as Jambo says is spend the wages and live off the card for a month or two.
