My cousin split sumthin on her laptop,she let it dry out b4 turning it on,but when she turned it on,the lights come on but then there are 2 beeps n then it cuts out but its sort of still on stand by(a light is on but is dull),

Any suggestion on how to fix it???

only real way to sort is to completly dismantle it & rebuild it, drying all components individually...

If it was just the beeps then i would say it could be the memory but you said there is a dim light on. Sounds to me like it's the motherboard.

yeh motherboards make beeps to tell u what the problem is - get out your manual for your motherboard (download a manual off the net) and it should tell u what the different beeps mean... either way something is fucked

The number of beeps depends on the type of BIOS chip your cousins laptop has - 2 beeps usually means that a circuit failure or RAM prob has occured.

What was actually spilt on the laptop? Anything other than water and you'll have trouble drying it out properly.

i spilt a pint of coke on my laptop keyboard it stopped workin for bout 3 weeks n then one day it decided to work all fine
