hey guys, i got a prob wi me car, 1997 1.4 16v corsa sport, after 5mins of drivin it the engine management light comes on n den the next time u begin to slow down to about 10mph after tht, all the lights come on around clocks n the car jus cuts out. i had the ecu read bout a month bak n it sed i had a blocked number 4 injector, so do u tink tht cud b me prob? the car restarts but the revs usually go so low the car cuts out so i hav to restart wi the gas on. i was also inflatin me tyre wi a inflator tht plugs into the cigerette lighter on the car n tht sparked n i got a shock from it n den the inflator neva worked again n thts also wen all me probs hav started from.any ideas as to wat it cud b ppl? any help wud b appriciated guys, cheers

my revs used to drop and stall, check hte gearbox mounted speed sensor

 take it to a garage before you do any more damage to yourself or the car

tight check the fuses for the ciggy lighter/interior circuit
then the speedo should work again and may cure you problem

how do i check the gearbox mounted speed sensor? yeh tink its guna hav to go to the garage b4 i kill myslelf!

if the speedo isn't working the engine will sometimes cut out when slowing down, and u will get an ecu fault light up now and again.
Its definately the speed sensor, or the cable has snapped going from the gearbox. get that sorted and your problems should disapear!

oh yeah, the speedo cable goes in on the top of the gearbox, can't miss it

how easy is it to fix a snapped cable? n how expensive? cheers 4 ya help ppl

come down mine and i can do the cable for u if its just disconnected, if its snapped not a clue

check the fuse for the interior first 
the speedo is electric and uses the interior fuse to work
so ergo the speedo's isnt working the ecu stops the engine working
check the fuse.

my wee bro had this prob we changed the speedo cable rubs kool now no probs it sumthing to do with a sensor on th gearbox change it it will be kool they cost aboot 10 quid from any where

hey ppl, i had blown the interior fuse on me car so that was all me probs! its all fixed now so thanks 4 ya help every1, saved me a lota £
