hi,

i have just seen a guy with a gsi with c16xe engine and he is selling the engine for £300 to put in a 2.0 (which i convinced him to do). the only thing is it has 94k on it. the car is mint and he has had it rebuilt 3k ago around the inlet manifold, so it sounds good. it has also had new driveshafts recently and i have driven it and it seems fine but i think the clutch may be slipping a bit is this expensive to replace? otherwise it is regularly serviced with bills for everything and he even said he would have the engine delivered to my house for me!

i can't put it in until mid september because of insurance so if i get it i will just clean it up and maybe do some work to it.

what does everyone think?

thanks
tom

You REALLY don't want to do the clutch after the engine's been fitted!
