Went into are local Peugeot dealer to pick my car up this afternoon; its had an idel problem over the last couple of weeks so went in yesterday morning to have a diagnostics test. This came up with the stepermotor was faulty. So they said they could have the part fitted by today at £150. So agreed with that, went into pick it up and the bloke went through the worksheet telling me that they replaced the steperotor, test drove it and the fault was still there, they then cleaned the carbs and fuel pipes and they said the fault had gone (so why replace the stepermotor!!).

Thought ah well if its sorted im not worried, drove out the dealership and about 2 miles down the road the idle went up went to cross at a turning and the fucking thing cut out and took ages for it to turnn over whilst stuck in the middle of the road!

Went back to the dealer and they said that they would have it in but when i asked about the £150 i have spent out and they said well the machine said it was fauulty so we will still charge you Told them where to stick that as it hasn't even affected the problem; he went off and i talked to someone else and came back saying they will have to send off my ECU and they will have to have the car for another week. Then the cheeky fucker said to me when i asked about a loan car, 'what do you want one for, your to young cos you won't be able insure it!'

Ive got a bloddy GTI so im sure i can transfer my insurance to a base model 206! 'Ah well we haven't got any available anyway'

So did you get a loan car, or were you a weak minded fool and walked out?

The insurance will all be in with Peugeot. I got a 206 off them for a week when mine went in for some body work to be done.

They have some dodgy mechanics i tell ya. Mine was jumping in 2nd gear so i took it in 4 times and they said we've clean your gearbox. This didn't help so i kept taking it back, they then said, we'll give the gearbox an oil change. This still didn't work so i gave up Then the car kept cutting out, so i took it back again. They said there was nothing wrong. Told the bastards to come out with me for a drive which they did. Floored it in 1st. Before i got out the garage it died There ya go tit face, there is a problem Anyway, they cleaned some plugs or something which sorted out the problem with cutting out and strangely, the gearbox problem too

They cleaned your carbs and fuel pipes ?

Well thats bollocks for starters as you don't have carbs on an injection car, did they also charge you for renting showroom space as you walked into the dealer to the service desk ?

I have the same problem with my 106 gti, my mate reckons it is the stepper motor, but i am not sure, the problem is getting worse too.
I also thought the bit about cleaning carbs sounded fishy!!

Well been back in today and got the car back; had rather strong words with the old tosser in there and he said that they won't touch the car because of the engine mods! De-cat and Induction kit!!!

So they tried giving me £94 of my money back although i have paid £170 in total; so as i was gettin even more i told him that i have had enough of talking to myself and get the manager; he came out and looked at all the invoices and said yes i should be credited £170

So basically they don't know what to do and won't do anything about the car; so got it booked into have the ECU checked and maybe remapped tomorrow and a car electrical specialist!

You probably are too young to get a courtesey car, most rental places say you have to be 23 to rent like a micra

Insurance will be through peugeot not on your insurance

Might see if i can swap it with my mates coil pack; but this should have shown up on the diagnostic machine; its been on there 3 times in the last 3 days!

Jambo; nah all that i had to do was transfer my insurance as there's dosn't cover courtesey cars there's just cover test drives. He was just a miserable old git that didn't wanna help!
