Hi mate of mine is moving on Thurs, we need to hire a box van if possible to shift his 3-piece suite, bed, furniture etc. Anyone know what size van you can drive with standard car licence and also roughly how much is rental for a day?

If anyone also knows of anywhere good around Nottingham, Beeston etc that would be great!

u have to be over a certain age i think its 21 but might be older

i paid £35 for a transit for day but limited to 200 miles and over that was 10p mile

Depending on when you got your license you might be able to hire a 7.5 tonner but usually you have to be over 23-25, be about £80 for the day

yeh 7.5 tonne is on the older licences (i.e mine )

look on ure card it tells u

Im 22, passed test when 17 so may well be the older licence - will have to look. We will need to cover approx 300 - 400 miles so im guessing it could be quite expensive for a big van!
