carnoisseurcraig has turboed his 1.4. u2u him and ask what was involved. Personally i wouldnt bother, if you want to keep the 1.4 get tb's and if you want a turbo fit a LET

turbo would not be cost effective for £perBHP. reliabilty is also an issue. Look at inlet manifolds or throttle bodies really. A turbo conversion would involve lowering the compression, getting a custom manifold made up, strengthening, etc etc

if it aint a turbo when it leaves the factory, then it shouldnt have a turbo

believe me, it will be more hassle than its worth

why would it you going to have seruiuos turbo lag in a 1.4 you may as well use tb's or buy a LET, or go one step better and supercharging it

Yeh but those engines were designed to be turbo'd... You're engine, the 1.4 was ment to be N/A, when u try turbo an N/A it it causes lots of probs...

god help us !

the fiat engines were made to take the turbo performance, carnossiuercraig had problems and a fucked turbo to go with it. hes had it up for sale, wonder why, people sell cars for a reason and its not usually told to the buyer.

however if you turbocharge your engine your guaranteed some problems, i think you'd be posting in several months time complaining that your pistons have melted or something

stick a let in and all the money you would have spent on fixing the 1.4 when the turbo kills it can go towards the cost of a let

right the cornering problem with 2litre corsas is way exagerated, people read a post on a forum (from someone who doesnt know anything) and they repeat it on several other forums, its as if people are getting brainwashed.

they aren't that bad, little heavier yes, but i corner mine ace, you just have to feed the power in gradually round corners with a turbo engine

had to move rad forward, low anto roll bar, mount the intercooler, oil cooler etc, wiring was a bitch but made sense of it in the end, had one problem at the end of it all, ecu wasnt reading revs in 1st gear so engine management light was always on, got that sorted now.

everything else like shafts n hubs, just ordered them and fitted them like normal
