Ohh..... I get it now..... That's pretty difficult to photograph, the splines are quite fine, if you fit the steering wheel and there is play then you have a problem, if not it should be ok. But if you are unsure I'd get a mechaninc to check it out, as it is made out of a aluminium casting and can be quite soft.
