215/35/17

Im considering this as the rolling diameter is VERY close to my current 16's so i cud keep performance and get a bigger wheel...

Are there any dangers/problems with this size??

Anyone got an opinion on it?

hmm 195/40/17 is bigger than 215/35/17, but is cheaper....

Is 35 profile bad news then joff?

Pirelli do a 35 profile on 17s, so I wouldn't rule out a 30 profile... just the width would have to be pretty wide.

Only that the width of the tyre has to go up to keep the aspect ratio on the profile in check. Not sure what the rolling radius is on the "perfect" Corsa wheel, so no idea what a 215/35/17 would be like.

215/35/17 is 0.07% longer circumference than a 195/45/16.

195/40/17 is 1.07%
205/40/17 is 2.4%

so 215/35 is spot on if u dont want to lose performance, but must have tiddy sidewall.

But 195/40/17 is half the difference of a 205/40/17 and would have minimal problems fitting those under the arches.
Only downside is the price... just go for PZero Nero's.

195/40s on 17s

ive seen 195/40s on 16s and those things dont look safe

plus your alloy rim will sit a mile out and look stupid, like having 205/40s on an 8j rim lol

Can't understand what you mean by performance? The only thing you'll keep is the rolling radius of the wheel, and this has a negligible effect on performance. You'll still lose performance by moving pto a 17" rim due to the increase in size and weight of the alloy, and weight in the Tyre (When the profiles of tyres are reduced the sidewalls are usually beefed up with metal re-enforcement, which bumps up the weight of the tyre).

yes but in keeping the rolling radius near right, speedo wont be as far out as on 205/40.
But of course the wheel circumference will make i difference to performance..

its the weight of the bigger wheel that affects performance, not the circumference
