Basically car is due back today and the MOT has run out, i have just had a new water pump fitted you see and the guy said he doubt it will pass the MOT when i take it as the 2 front tyres are bald on the inside.
The this is i didn't really wanna get 2 new tyres yet as i was gonna get new rims soon !
Not sure what 1 of the following to do....
1) Take the risk as they are and hope it passes the MOT the get the new rims.
2) Put my old steelies (hubacps) back on and hope the rear bumper dont scrape on the floor (and side skirts)
3) Pay the price for 2 new tyres

keep tyres on
n if necessary slip the bloke a tenner to not say about tyres
or u could get ur gf to take ur car in for MOT, flirt with him n it'll def get through

put the steelies back on n u should be ok, but they will fail it if it cant get onto the ramp

no i couldn't get onto the ramp!!! and i still passed.

how can they check ur motor underneath etc if u cant get it onto the ramp. thats how it will fail m8

like i said they made it go on
the problems wasn't really the ramp but the thing that sits across the 2 beams that u drive on. it wouldn't go underneath the front bumper cause it was too low, but he got it though eventually

This seems your best option. Go along with the car as it is, stay with him as he does the test and when he says tyres, explain whats going on and slip him a few notes.

Wonder who guessed it was the water pump Better than a head gasket though eh
Go to a quiet MOT station, if he point out the tyres say your already waiting on a set of new wheels with new tyres all round but they have't arrived yet??
What about putting steels on the rear and rears on the front? (or whatever)

or just buy 2 new tyres as it will be an added selling point when/if you sell them after

just the 1 or both??? i got told if i leave the window down it will pass, buti also haveanother means of entry to the car should battery fail or lock keys in there

should be ok then. has to be at least 1 external way of entry into the car as they tried tofail me for it until i sowed them there was one pissed on his bonfire
