can you run the engine and wheels-- throu all the gears?

You gotta be fucking careful, cos if it's up on axle stands then the engine could vibrate the car off...

Just put the hand brake on... then if it falls it'll just drag the arse around and probably stall instead.

EDIT - When I posted this, his post title was 'If you rasied the front wheels' ... now it seems he's talking about a RWD car? and has edited title

take it its rear wheel drive then... if u can get it on a propper ramp or i can see this ending in pieces

car has 26bhp i dont think it has the power to go anywhere fast

just need to test it running
to be safe ill tie it to a tree

I wouldnt do it on a RWD, cos theres nothing stopping the front wheels from moving. You could put bricks infront of the fronts i suppose

dont be shocked when you first turn the engine on and the wheels start to turn though, even out of gear

yes. mine did this and i was amazed and then learnt that it was due to drag on the transmission

venom please correct me if im worng as im not 100% sure bout this

yup the fiat not mot as yet so i wanna run it trou its gears make sure its all there

venom - i know cheers mate my corsa did that when i was fitting zorst to the corsa and tested it and the wheel was spinning round

It will be fine. Only thing is it will rev a lot freer as there is no load on your 26 brake

Must admit i was exttreamly pleased with my 0-60 time, think i got about 5 seconds imn my 1.2 8v this was with no wheels on either.

The gear system isn't part of the MOT So to be safe don't bother
