uh, brembo do some spira groove drums i think they call them, but i wudnt think it'l do anything.
Rear brakes are only really to stabilise the car under braking anyway.

Yes.

But imo, if you're going to improve the brakes at the rear, ditch the drums. You're gonna have the same issues with bias (e.g. the rears locking before the fronts) but you'll still have issues with maintaining a poorly designed braking system.

drums are wank. if youre gonna change the rear brake setup then discs are the only way to go

bigger discs and calipers will be the only way forward if you want improved braking! (can the rear axle be swapped with an axle thats got discs?)

you can get rear disc kits and use discs from a gte IIRC

Needs welding. Wont need o swop rear axle tho

My new rear brakes are mint. Even tho I have the smallest brake shoes, they locked up before the fronts did. Was a bit sideways.

you need a brake bias valve. your car would have been set up for the brakes it has. rears discs will provide a more effective braking system than the drums. therefore if you use the original bias set up the rear will get more braking force than before. this will cause the back end to swing out.

thanks i understand why rear brakes tend to make the car lose control

how difficlut is it to set up the brake balance?

what would the perfect balance be 50-50

or would it depend on the size of the front and back disks?

Your corsa allready had a brake bias valve it should be adjusted when you lower the car or you can get the sideways effect as i accidently encountered on a roundabout in my youthfull ignorrence.

Rear disc are perfectly safe on FF drive cars. Lots of manafacturers make FF cars with rear discs.

i know lots of Front drive cars have em i always thought under heavy braking they were unsafe

Manafacturers would not sell cars if they werent safe to drive they are not allowed to by law, unless u remember the merc A class

As vibrio said if set up properlly they are way beter than drums, drums are an ancheint and not very effective form of braking but they are cheap which is why corsas have them
