well ive had like 3 of them from maplins!! they work fine, but all the ones ive had the motors have blown!!
i would personally go for boot opening kit with the pull wire, cant remember where from, theres laods of posts about it..

easy, the rod which goes into the standard lock, you just shortern slighlt and bend the end and it fits into the end of the motor. put the motor inline with the rod, its easy to see how to do it when its all infront of you.

they have probably blown becasue you have left them on too long. your only supposed to press the button quickly, not hold it down!
