just get a Dax without the engine, just the space frame and stuff
and you can fit your own engine

Most kit cars have the option of having with or without engine

Even a 1.3 would be a rocket!! and be hard to insure I reckon you be looking at a 500CC or something like that..

Me and my mates have been looking into kit cars. Got insurance quotes of about a grand full comp with a couple of years no claims. We are 21 and it was on a 2litre tiger kit car with a limited mileage. Look at www.tigerracing.co.uk these are the kits 2 get!

something liek a Caterham/westfield 7 styled car wiith a metro as the donor car - mates doing it at the mo - and all the insurance and MOT etc is catered around the metro

its a 1.3 I think as well - and should shift as the car weighs nothing - however his is even lighter as his family business is making one off composite and GRP parts for cars/boats nething really - so its pretty much full carbon and has been done as a demo for the company

well i had this kit car when i was 18! after having 2 bad crashes i was still paying only £700 tpft for insurance! after this i went for a mini 998cc and was paying almost £1500!

it was classed as less then insurance group one!!!!!!!!!! it had a 1.3 litre uno engine in it and was faster then mates 1.8zetec escort! 0 -60 in just under 9 secs! not bad!

i even got quote after having a 1.4litre uno turbo engine running 52psi boost! best uno engine in country and insurace wud have gone up £160!!!! was just amazing on insurance!

here is a quick pic, had it all iced up in the end which slowed it down, 2 jl 10s, 2 jl 8s, 3 amps etc etc etc! was great fun in summer! just not really very reliable

Never understand why people with soft tops don't have them down all year round??

Cos they look like twats driving down the high street when it's wet and the temp is 4 degrees.
