Yes but look at the intake looks about 1" air flow for Turbos wouldnt be enough , thats why Blitzsupplys the hardpipe kit to allow maximum air flow.

The intake is tailored for each application. If the RX7 kit is hooj then the Powertec one should be the same - that's if they do one for mad-ass rotary engined stuff

Bigger than a Pipercross filter, cheaper than a Pipercross filter, louder than a Pipercross filter, flow more air than a Pipercross filter... oh Pipercross make them too.



What car is it to fit? Looking at the Performance Driven site, there's a Powertec SL1X for the Corsa B - 200mm stainless steel filter

How do you measure how "good" an air filter is?

You should really be measuring how well the filter filters - that's what it's there for at the end of the day.

Performance air filters are all about increasing air flow at the expense of filtration.

A paper element is always going to be the best medium to filter particles out of the air.

Cotton-gauze filters like K&N/Green improve on the air flow and retain a lot of the filtration, but it's very dependant on how soiled the filter is. Out of the box, cotton-gauze filters perform badly - they need a bit of surface dirt to help them out - god knows why, but that's the urban myth behind it.

Foam filters like Pipercross, Ramair, etc let a lot more air through for great power gains (on applications where the paper element is restrictive) and also filter all the harmul particles.

Stainless steel mesh like Blitz, Powertec, etc are the best for airflow (well, next to removing the filter medium completely) but are never going to compete with the other types in terms of how much they can filter out of the air.
Powertec and I'm sure Blitz too, have a good level of filtration. As far as I know, most others out there are pretty much cosmetic items only. So you'd be just as good with a KFC bargain bucket with a few holes punched through the end

On a Corsa C SRi, the Pipercross induction kit.

On a car where a BFO cone is available, the Powertec 200mm filter is probably better as the sound would be great from the stainless steel. The PVD BFO cone is a lot cheaper than the SL1X Powertec though.

That's right - the BFO cone only fits the Corsa B (exc C16XE) and Corsa C 1.2 SXi.

You can buy universal BFO cones, but whether they fit or not is down to you.

Pipercross have a scary machine for measuring filtration.

Slip the bloke a tenner to look the other way and you can test the filtration of items of clothing and stuff
