Basically i need a bigger car and yes the Corsa will be a bit too small. What i'm thinking of is a 306 (1.4 or 19D). Has anyone had a drive in these and what are they like The reason i say the Corsa is too small is becaue i need 5 doors and i think they look a bit shit unless they only have 3.

The first thing i will be doing with it will be the wheels (15" TSWs me thinks )

If you go for a d turbo, just make sure it has a FSH. This is very important!

Service intervals are every 6000 miles! If it dont get well looked after things start to go wrong

I went for a 306 due to the fact that they handle superbly, look smart, and like u say, are bigger than the corsa. However, they are french, and build quality just isnt up to scratch.

The derv is an excellent choice, the TD is pretty "nippy" for a derv, and is excellent on the motorway. 55+mpg isnt unheard of from these engines on a run.

Unless u can get a 1.8 16v or 2.0 16v petrol, i wouldnt bother mate, coz the 1.4 + 1.6s are both sluggish and drink fuel. But then again, so will the larger engines on the m-way.

If u can stretch to it, go for the later HDi models which have a far more refined engine.

I had a 306 - very nice cr, but very badly put together, had an accident in it cause brake discs cracked at rear, an nearly killed me, more or less. Id steer clear mate.

That being said, my GF's dads just got a 90bhp td and he's well chuffed wi it.

Brakes on em are poo.....especially the ph1 DT.......256mm ATE set up just isnt strong enough.

The standard DTs are good cars, not lightning, but are strong reliable motors.

A mate had one of these... he still loves them now, but he must have spent 3k in repairs in 2 yrs

Get a Honda Civic

I honestly cannot believe how little goes wrong with hondas!! Ive had two now, and joint repair costs for them both has been £28 for a new suspension bush!!

Thats over 4 years!!!!

Thats 60k of driving, 2-3 trackdays a year, and most of the time spent at the red line..

Try that with a Pug and see what happens
