I have a little bit longer to go at uni and to be honest- i dont expect it to give me that much of an advantage in getting a job.

People forget that going to uni isnt all about getting a job- youve got to do a course your interested in thats the main thing----you get loads more out of uni than just a job-you learn a hell of a lot about life in general.

I have worked almost full time hours ina decent job all through my year out and all through uni---I would expect this to be of more interest to an emplyer than my eventual degree

Agree with that Dr Pepper, i dont think my course will help me get a job, but the uni lifestyle is fantastic, i wouldn't change it for nothing.

And also agree that most employers these days look more towards work experience than qualificatoins.

Probably.

yeah very true and i have found employers look more into ur aspect on life and how u view ur career and where u hope to be in ten years etc rather than out right qualifications. i was just wondering how people have got on cos last time i remember alot of people still hadn't got jobs

Well I got my new job, and I couldn't have even applied for it without a degree... There's also no way I would have got a starting salary anywhere near without my degree... So in my opinion you can't loose... 3 or 4 years of fun and then more money in the end

Sadly not always the case, a few of my friends that graduated are working in low paid jobs that they could have done without their degrees because they couldnt get anything else. So all they have done is got in about 10k worth of debt from student loans and had the degree = big money dreams shattered.
