What does "paid partly in arrears and partly in advance" mean, does it mean:
- I get an advance of pay when i start of a couple of hundred, then have this taken off my monthly wage
OR
- Does it mean i only get paid half for the first month i work there, then if/when i leave they owe me half my wages
i reckon and hope the first one lol

ussually in most jobs you get paid in arrears, ie you get paid for january at the ned of febuary etc...
therefore what they probably meen is you would get half of januarys money at the end of jan and the other half at the end of feb, then febs money end of march etc...

this is like that for mine........my next pay day is 16th March, this is my pay for the whole month of march so by the time I get paid Ive already worked two weeks without being paid (1-15 March) and they pay me for the rest of the month as well (16-31 march)
