Why say that? Novas are the easiest cars to work on, parts are plentifull and you've got the whole of the Vauxhall parts catalogue to fit to the car.

your doin exactly what i wanna do to my next corsa/nova

i was so close to getting the perfect base car when that white gsi came up for sale a few weeks back but ian stole her

so just got to keep looking for a minter....

how hard was it to find the engine ollie....

i mean i was goin to just buy a gsi and work from there but after seeing yours i could pick up a base model dirt cheap and hunt for a 1.6 block

I paid £300 for the Nova but I was very lucky, the previous owner worked in a bodyshop and has undersealed the whole car, under the bonnet there is no rust other than the battery tray which you can buy a new one from Vauxhall for a tenner.

It needs a new rear panel but I've got that and when it goes into the bodyshop it will be welded in, along with a new O/S arch.

The engine was easy to get hold of, there are loads of them for sale on here and on Migweb, the good thing is, is that you can use all the driveshafts, engine mounts from the Nova for the 1.6 16v.

Do it, its well cheap and looks excellent at the shows and on the track.
