gotta be a rebuild on that many miles though before anyone considered dropping it in

yeah wouldnt wana touch an engine with that many miles if possible, plently of other redtops around with less mileage!! how much is a decent rebuild anyway???

dunno depends how far u want to go and whether u rebuild with standard or performance

id do one if i picked an engine up cheap enough

Std rebuild would set you back about £1000 + sundries (at somewhere like V-Tuning)... more if you went somewhere like SBD...

XE's are good for at least 150k before needing a rebuild, just got to keep em serviced nice. Wouldnt buy one off eBay tho

I was told that too -- if it doesn't smoke, don't bother rebuilding, unless you want performance mods...

at only 41 quid it's worth someone getting just to chuck in a rolling chassis and use as a track car just for a laugh!

thats cheap even though the high mileage. (providing it doesn't rattle or smoke as the person claims)

That Astra is certainly cheap at the moment, they're worth a few hundred quid more than that in bits.

My XE had around 130k on the clock and whilst it doesn't need much replacing, it's having it all done anyway.

Bill will be close to £1000 in total which includes parts, labour and the C20XE, gearbox, loom, etc.
