Ok.
I now own a Ford Escort RS Turbo.
The Problem is........
When coming off acceleration in 2nd and 3rd gear there is a very loud screaming noise. When im on the power its fine. Just when im decreasing speed.
A few mates reckon its bearings in gearbox but i was just wondering what your opinion was.

if its just when your in those 2 gears then it most probably is something to do with the box & bearings...
best thing take it to a garage & ask them to do an oil change on the box and see if that helps, if not could be a new gearbox for ya
unsure how much they cost for fords, but being an RST maybe its possible to use one from an XR3i or something? but will most likely be around the £100-£150 mark to find & buy one!

def sounds like the bearings in the box
am not sure if a xr3i box would work cause the rst comes with a lsd but maybe am wrong and the xr3i box might not b able 2 withstand the power the rst is putting out

I was thinking that, but thought it might be ok as a stop-gap, and someone told me once the box's were identical apart from the LSD, but could be something to check up on so best having a look here.

my mates rst box went and he put in sumthing another type of box not sure which 1 tho but ill ask him
but the box did go after that but his rst was tuned a fair bit
