How does it all go about paying them off?? Do you have to spend all of the limit or what? At the arp price??

Basically you get a credit limit - you can spend up to that limit.

Each month you will get a statement saying how much is owing on there - you can choose to pay it all off, or pay a smaller amount - there will always be a minimum payment of 5% or £5 (whichever is greater)

When you first get one they usually jsut give you a limit of £500 or £1k to see if you can borrow sensibly

ive never had had a credit card but as im going to oz what do people reccomend me to do?
i dont want to carry around several thousand pounds in travellers cheques!
just want a card i can use like a bankcard but with no charge

Credit Cards are bad mmm'k Seriously tho avoid them unless necy... u'd b shocked at the amount of interest u can get stung for :S

goto loyds bank and apply for a visa debit card, they work all over the world. mates sister went backpacking in oz for 6 months and she used the visa debit over there for when she was to pissed to get change from her pockets.

you can use a switch/maestro card in over 90 countries worldwide, including Australia

hence no need for any visa whatsoever

Visa's are still handy though if you can use them sensibly
