if its ure tensioner then i suggest u get it sorted a.s.a.p and dont drive the car in the mean time. if ure tensioner screws up then so does ure cam belt resulting in serious damage to ure engine e.g valves, cams and even pistons

i personally wouldnt attempt to tighten it ureself unless u know wot u are doin kus if its too tight it can screw up as well

id get someone to look at it and be careful in the meantime

yup if its the tensionor could be its bearings they go the belt will come off and your engine will eat itself so id get it fixed now

only drive to the garage to get it fixed or even get it towed if its been doing it a while

its automatic tensioner, suspect you willl end up replacing it.
And yes its the alternator belt not cambelt so will cause no damage if it goes.

depends where ya go

typical prices from vaux are usually silly prices, so expect a tensioner to come in at about £40-60+

just a case of slackening off the alternator till the aux drivebelt is loose enough to be removed, unbolt the old tensioner & remove then refit the new one

maybe need to do a few things inbetween so best getting a haynes manual if you fancy doing the job yourself, but shouldn't be too much of a hastle to do on the driveway!
