so it went from say 65 bhp -> 90 bhp... a gain of 25 in their books... but of course if it was 75 -> 90 its only 15 bhp...

still not bad, but thats probably with a chip too.

No there was a guy on here a a while ago. Can't remember what he was called.
He had a DBilas manifold and a....chip fitted to his new 1.2 SXi.
Cant remember what make the chip was but it ended in ....tek. It was a special map and came with the manifold.
The only other thing he did was drill his airbox.STD exhust etc.
He had GRAPHS showing that it put out 105 BHP at the WHEELS!!!
This guy also owned a fiesta Zetec-s(not that fast but its still a 1.6) and he said the corsa was faster than that!!!!
Does anybody remember him, Iv only seen him on here a couple of times.

Quality!

so the new ecu comes as a package with the inlet manifold? ooh that is tempting... I know the ecu coming your talking about, I also can't remember their name atm.

You sure it was 105 bhp at the wheels though mate?

its only 75 bhp at the FLY standard?

Why has he bought a brand new car with a small engine, then wants to make it go faster??

Due to the talk of mods etc, its clear it will be his own car, so why the hell didnt he go for a 1.4 16v in the first place?????

Ah, I understand A) why the inlet manifold is so expensive and B) why it gives such good power gains now...

Just been reading, and its possible that dbilas not only supply the inlet manifold ready to fit, but also cams + a dastek chip that is remapped by them!

so that £800 price tag isn't so extortionate after all... and if you can knock them down a bit it's pretty reasonable. Though I wouldn't pay it too expensive.

MattyB, I'd guess coz he can only insure a 1.2 16v and is probably planning on not telling the insurance - tsk tsk.

you'd be suprised mate - insurance companies arn't stupid. MY car's supposedly group 3, yet the first year I had to go on my mums insurance as it was too expensive, and this year I paid £1450 f/c

1.4 would be a few hundred quid more.

what? first year you've insured it?

weird...

with most people, they're first car (dunno the age of this guy, but myself was only 17) they basically laughed at me with quotes even with the 1.2 16v sxi.

Yeah thats the one.
He defo said at the wheels. which is quite impressive for a 1.2. According to him it "REVS LIKE A DRILL!"

hmm, the claimed power increase is supposedly at the wheels I think?

if that was 105 bhp at the wheels for sure that'd be quality!

1.6 16v's are only 106 bhp at the fly arn't they?

iv said a few things on this, i used to own a corsa 1.2 sxi and swent silly with my credit card and ended up buyng second hand a dbillas inlet manifold and unichip (which was later r/red to the car).

I cant remember the excact figure but it i think the car was producing about 100bhp at the wheels and felt alot faster then it did before the mods.

i cant really answer any questions about the corsa as i no longer own it (i bought my self a porsche powered beetle)

but i can tell u this mod is worth while and definatly improves the performance of the car.

I went from a group 2, to a group 5, and the difference was £6 a month. And i'm only 18.

Like everyone says on this board, dont bother with a little engine, spending loads trying to make it fast, start off with a decent engine, and tune it slightly.

But sayin that, i've heard the 1.4 16v SRi's Corsa Cs are shabby.
