Fed up with people telling me shite i know is wrong but i can't be bothered to argue.
Saw a mondeo ghia, it was shite, my mate telling me how good it is and that Ghia meant "its made by the Karmann Ghia factory"
i said its just called Karmann factory, and that Karmann ghia was a car, nothing to do with Ford Ghia badge?
am i right?

""Ghia was used on Fords to indicate that it was the top of the line version of a particular model. For example Ford Laser came in three versions L, GL and Ghia. The Ghia had a higher standard of trim on the interior than other models, plus special alloy wheels. The Ghia name came from an Italian design studio or styling house. The name was probably just licensed to Ford as the Ghia versions were really only simple light cosmetic changes compare to the lesser models.

The name VR6 comes from a combination of V engine (German: V-motor), and the German word "Reihenmotor" (meaning "row engine" or straight engine) - and so is described as a "Vee-Row" engine.
This engine configuration can also be described as a "staggered six",

the modern day example is elite and SRi for Vauxhall
Elite is all the bells and whistles (Ghia) whereas SRi concerns cosmetics and suspension/wheels etc (Zetec S)

Ghia models are for the elderly. Usually have walnut dashes and pension book holders.
