Went out at 10pm to go to work and car won't start...
Just clicks when turning key so i presume this is the 'Starter motor'.... Clicking is deffo coming from under bonnet and not at dash. Not looked yet as had to come to work but i dunno where starter motor is on the 2.5 v6 engine..?

Also though when it clicks all my hazards flash like what the alarm does???
Maybe alarm fault and immobilser is still on...Deffo clicking though.....

Had to walk to work....

missus car is in garage too with a fuel leak and rotten zorst!!!!

Whats the best way to try and start it if it is starter motor? Jump start? Hit the starter motor witha stick??? (done this years ago to my old axgt)

any help opinions guys..need to get it started to go to a garage...

cheers..

Could be a nearly flat battery or dead starter. The clicking will be the solenoid on the starter motor.

Don't think it's battery as only parked up at back of 8 after driving for about 30 mins...

I think it's the starter which is crap.....Going to cost ££££

Just paid for painting / grill / kn panel filter ....

IT shouldn't be THAT expensive. Only thing is with it being the V6 room will be limited so not much fun to do yourself I wouldn't have thought.

If your car has a catalic converter on do don,t bump start it you will flood the catalic conveter and it will break and cost lots of money to repair. Try to charge the battery
It was cold last night and it could have flattened your battery.

would of thought it had an electric starter motor, not one with brushes, so hitting it may be pointless.

i'd try and charge battery first, just in case

and if it has a cam belt dont bump it cos it will stretch the belt.

Check the battery, for all you know your alternator could be gone and it hasnt been charging your battery..............

If its a 1.2 16v i have a starter motor here for it if its needed

It does sound like a flat battery, but trying to jump start it will tell you whether its that or the starter motor

no if it still starts after a jump it may even be the alternator like i suggested.

could be a number of things, belt too slack, regulator gone ect

sounds to me that ur battery is just flat. mine has done this for a month or so now. just clicks when try and start it, but after 3 times it starts up. either bump start it or get a fully chraged battery and see if it helps

all starter motors are electric and they all have brushes

and if his alternator was gone and the battery was flat his car wouldnt run
