With the Royal Mail:

"Our standard parcels service is suitable for sending non urgent parcels in the UK. We aim to deliver parcels within 3 - 5 working days after posting.

The minimum charge for standard parcels is £3.32. The maximum allowed length is 1.5 metres and the length and girth of the parcel combined must not exceed 3 metres.

The maximum weight limit for sending a Standard Parcel is 30kg but from the 1st April 2004 this maximum weight limit will be reduced to 20kg. From this date items weighing more that 20kg can still be sent from Post Office™ branches where a member of staff will be able to help you select the best alternative service to use.."

Quoted from their website. Also insurance can be taken out for a bit extra. Ive so far sent: Full set of suspension, strut brace, full set of brakes with headlamps...

may be better taking them to main dispatch office or give them a ring, they may also be able to supply packaging for whatever it is down there.
