Originally posted by Fee following on from the theft of our track 32..... Its only been a few days but i have little faith that i will be returned. So... what now? We have both decided to do it again, with a 32 GTR again. BUT.... Do we start with a rolling shell and get the cage done (as we planned to do with the grey one), then source an engine (poss an RB30 from RIPS in NZ), susp, brakes etc.... OR Buy a known working decent spec R32 for 10k+ and work back/forwards from there? Get it to the end of the summer and then maybe refresh the bearing and fit cage etc, respray blah blah each has its pro's and con's and the 2nd option of buying a car will be the most cost effective IF the engine holds out for a while! Idealy money and time no object we'd start from scratch... but its real life and they are large factors! The ins paout will be crap and we're going to need to stump up a lot of money either option to get to where the last car was. I've tried to get intouch with the guy selling a 32 shell with cage, but he seems to ignore my attempts.... bizzare. Now sold. Been in touch with AG Motorsport about fabricating a cage, but he doesnt seem too interested and works with 40mm tubeing. If it comes to it, we'd (fee) sell on this years TA spaces and aim to have a car for next year (and keep an underfed pitpull in the car at all times). Best case would be to catch the last few rounds of this year. royal pain in the ass either way... but a hobby is a hobby, you cant just stop doing it. Its just a bit extreme.
