My mates putting some Tarox 6's on his Evo 3, they only just fit under 17" Pro race 1.2's and I could be mistaken but think he said 356mm floating discs....
Another mates got some huge Brembo's sat just under his 18's on an 8, They are big :!

Does the contour of the wheel spokes not have a lot to do with this as well - although you are running fairly high clearance rims already?

Lad I'm helping has a rather large set of brakes on his evo,

But he's had to upgrade the wheels to tarmac spec rally 18's to fit a floating disc set up

Im not sure of disc size, but I can find out for you?

anyone had experience of fitting big brake kits behind 17" wheels?

Roughly what would ou think to be the max?

The kit i'm thinking about may fit  maybe not

356mm discs, 8 piston calipers
