Also try and make the wishbones as long as you can because then camber doesn't change as much over bumps or cornering, but the longer they get the more fragile they become.
another thing if you are using tie rods to stop the rear steering try and get the lower wishbone and tie rod arc as near as possible, as then there will will be less bump/ roll steer.

OMG carbon will be the nuts, what rear suspension are you going for? I designed an IRS system for a 205 gti using a suspension design program and a computer analysis program. I found mcpherson struts was the easiest and most cost effective but double A-arms would be hell of a lot better if you have the time/money to make them and accurate geometry.

Im looking into double wishbones for the rear and sticking with the mcpherson on the front. Do you have a copy of the software you used? making them wont be a problem asi have all the correct tooling at work.

no sorry you need a license

Hi all, been on here a few moths generally just looking at other people's threads and thought i should start a thread of my own. There's not much to look at at the minute but hopefully in the next couple of months things should get cracking! The original plan was put my high spec 1600 motor in a caged up shell, but things have changed.

Heres the shell that im using

The plan is to semi space frame the shell and cut away as much metal as possible. I bought a fibreglass roof, doors, boot, bonnet and wings but have since changed my plans and going for a fuylly carbon body, similar to this golf:

The track/body is being widned, with fully adjustable lower arms and tie bars. Running an independant suspension setup on the rear.

The original engine was this one

And was going to be mounted to my tran X straight cut box. I have since bought this box

Its a quaife 32G 6speed straight cut sequential dog box

and since buying the box iv aquired a 275bhp 183lbft c20xe that i am now going to be using instead of the 1600, which is now up for sale.

Heres my latest engine

As i mentioned, hopefully in the next month or so work should comence on the space frame and i will be able to update this thread.
