hey :(

It was good fun building and racing.

Bought the car for 400, all in spent about 1700 maybe... sold for 1000.

So.... na, never think you are going to make profit from building track cars. Unless you use really cheap parts, old parts etc.

We could have done it a fair bit cheaper, but i dont really have the patience to wait for bargain (right) bits to appear and just end up ordering them from Demon Tweeks

Cage, exhaust, brake bias, lines, harnesses were all new.

Dont think this has been covered in one thread before. Sold the car now, but someone might find this usefull down the line.

bought the car as an MOT failure. It was a 1987 1.9 GTi in graphite gray.

It needed new rear beam, new winscreen, horn, some re-wiring, brake pipes to pass MOT.

The car sat unused for about 7months after purchase 'till we decided to do something with it. Stripping started.

Once that was started it was really just looking out for cheap parts, and fixing the MOT probs.

wheel refurb

prep and fitting of OMP 10pt cage.

repair work to rust spots.

fitting of seats

refurbed rear beam

suspension work

brake bias setup, with rear lines through car

GpN Exhaust sys

new manifold n gaskets

new rad n clutch cable

stickered up....

:D

great car, n cheap too
