Cut it by a third after two or three weeks as it promotes strong roots. Don't let it grow really long as that does the opposite with the roots.

I waited six weeks, let it get nice and long.

Cheers mate, was just going to go steady and take the tops off, just a little and often approach seems to be the best.

not sure on time but first cut don't cut too short -

TBH in general don't cut too short anyway

Also get greenthumb on the case - best thing we did for our lawns. for the small quarterly fee they look superb and weed/moss free

We have just moved in to our new house and the garden was turfed just before we moved in. I've done the usual stuff of watering it morning and night but I am unsure how long I need to leave it before it gets mowed for the first time. Any ideas?
