Cats are sly fuckers. They have their little territories and if another animal goes on their patch, all hell breaks loose.

One of my cats is the most lovely cat you could ask for. Not vicious at all, but put her outside with another cat from up the road and she goes mental.

Water pistol is a good idea, but means you need to stake out the area.

Track down the cats owner and post the shit through the letter box. Horrible animals, best place for them is in a bin liner.

Spray lemon juice around your beds - use one of those jif lemons.

We have some nice planted beds at the front of our house but they have bark chips on the top; it turns out these basically scream "shit here" to all the cats in the neighbourhood.

If I were to replace this bark with something else, what would be the best for discouraging cats? Slate or some sort of stone?
