You all ready have a block paviour drive way so I would just lift the existing block lay a decent hardcore base compact it and relay.

I have noticed that the drive falls towards the house. I would level this out if you are looking to relay the drive. I would also install a gulley infront of the garrage. This will kill two birds with one stone, sorting out the sunken drive and the level of the drivewayso you dont get surface run off to the house.

dont get one of those concrete patterned driveways, they are an absolute death trap in the wet/icy weather. someone i know had one and they ended up putting carpet runners on it as they couldn't walk on it tidy

Sooo confused on what to do tbh,

My pet hates with block paving is weeds how dirty it gets and seems to stain and how in level it is, tomorrow afternoon I will take a proper pic of its current condition! Hence why I've suggested this pattern imprinted concrete, it seems to look well be quite easy to maintain and also not sink or any weeds! Could do with finding out how skippy they are as missus is nearly 7 month pregnant and don't want her falling over, (although when I start this in December/January she might have given birth

well laid tarmac - ie not by gypos from the back of a truck!

There really slippy when its cold and wet. Slid down a few in my time!
And my neighbours goes sticky when its really hot and can't park on it! ha!

those Concrete patterned driveways are crap,
my mates does block paving,
and when i help him on a weekend for a few quid we've ripped up a few that have cracked etc,
good thing about block paving is if any break you can replace them,
concrete drive gets fucked its a huge job.

The last owners had the same ppl do the conservatory and that's a state too so at some point that will be pulled down and redone

If you redo your current driveway it will look good.

Not enough hardcore, or not wacked down properly is the problem with that one.

I'm going to do a driveway with reclaimed block paving I think :cool:

Done properly it won't sink.

Problem is people like to do a cheap job with sub-bases that are far too thin. With the proper depths laid down it won't go anywhere.

Our driveway sunk a bit after a few months :o

There were loads of mines around here in days gone by, everyone's drives and even the roads around here keep sinking :lol:

And Daniel I don't know if I like block paving as I don't fancy having to re level the ground every few years when it sinks, this is terrible I will have to get a better pic to give you an idea of how bad it is

there is no maintenance other than general jet washing and checking for any weeds coming through.

Lift the block paving sort underneath level out again then relay block paving.

Id get it blockpaved again personally.

Ive just bought my own house and one of the things im going to do is sort the driveway out. It's block paved and unfortunately in the middle and near the garage it's sunk in places and generally looks crap.

So do any of you have patterned concrete driveways? Any info on them maintainance with one and general outlook on them and any pics from those that do have it done

I'm taking a piece of wall out and making the drive wider too so it will curve under the front window, as all the wall and driveway edge pillars are going to be built as well as a wall between me and my next door neighbour.
