Depends where you go for pvc stuff. I have my own family busines manufacturing pvc windows.doors.and.conservatories and if you dont.cut corners teyvare every bit as good. Problem is everyone is trying to undercut the next one and they have to.cut corners to make money. Metal reinforcing is practically the same pric as the pvc now so alot of companies ar cutting right back on it to stay competetive. Same as cars you get what you pay for

Think you might need a building warrant for this

As much as it pains me to say it you can get some really good PVC windows now and they are dirt cheap. I doubt I could buy the materials to make a timber one for less than they are punting PVC windows out for.

I think they look alot better than PVC .also PVC doors are a load of shite. It's a toss up between PVC windows and wood doors or full aluminium . After triple glazed too had anyone got triple glazed and how much different with sound level did you notice?

quote: They're fucking expensive, especially the doors. Miles better than PVC in terms of security and finish, but you get what you pay for. 4 windows, one french door and a front door in alli came to £5k+ here :

As above , anyone got aluminium doors and windows in domestic property? Views on it ? PVC I think are crap and wood is too high maintenance. Any views on the suitability in a domestic house |
