Beat me to it Matt with the trv comment lol

TRVs dont reduce flow or reduce the surface temperature of the radiator, they alow it on full and switch them off when the room gets upto temperature. I get pissed off at the amount of jobs I get to about a rad that "isnt working" but all the others are or rads that "still get red hot even though its only on number 2"

the wireless stats are piss easy to fit. just fit the reciever as you would a normal stat but next to the boiler or even in it. then the remote just works like a tele remote

Are these hard to wire into the boiler?

That Honeywell one does look good, might go for that if I don't come across anything better over the weekend.

I bought a homexpert one which is exactly same as honeywell and even the instructions says honeywell, but it was 1/3 of the cost

Room stat and programmer.

I've got a wired room stat and a British gas programmer but wan to simply it and just have the receiver beside the boiler and have room stat in living room.

Honeywell look good and work very well, but we usually use Salus ones at work as theyre cheap but also reliable.

Are you looking for just a wireless room stat or room stat and programmer combined?

You get wireless rad valves now as well, about 2-3x the price of a normal thermostatic rad valve though so gets expensive quickly.

Each of the raditators in our rooms have twisty thermostats and we have a master thermostat in the hallway.

Does the radiator's stat simply set a maximum heat that that radiator will produce, while the main hallway stat will switch off (or regulate) the main central heating once it detects the set temp?

Yup. TRVs restrict flow and stop radiators warming up as fast meaning less heat is needed to heat the areas that are more in use. Central thermostat controls the boiler.

Right need a wireless thermostat, there's loads.

Would be nice if it looked good, heatmiser ones keep coming at the top of my searches.

I would love a Nest one but can't get them here yet and they seem to have their own problems.

Any recommendations. For a combi boiler.
