I remember seeing that when it first came out, properly cool (design + interface).

I randomly had one of these http://www.npower.com/campaigns/smartpower/index.htm show up in the mail. Apparantly nPower sent a load out to some customers. It does the job. Agree with the other comments about lights n tv using fuck all, and the washing machine, microwave causing the instant consumption to go round the dial.

It does record history, but id like it to do trending, to see whats being used when.

Got a free one from British gas, didn't help with the consumption, just made it painful daily as opposed to every quarter!

I just checked with EDF to see if I could get anything for free and they said they only do it for priority customers and I'm not a priority customer :(

That AlertMe.com one seems to offer that.

It used to use a service offered by Google but Google have discontinued that now and they use their own internal one.

yes it used to use Google power meter so you could have it on your iGoogle homepage but they removed it

I used it on my property and did the job

will install it on the new house when we move in

also has an app for the iphone/ipad

Got mine free from npower
Either it's set up wrong or my bills are wrong because there's a pretty big difference between them

Got one free, made me realise lights use fuck all, and shower / oven / washing machine / dishwasher / dryer are epically expensive

alertme.com should fit your requirements

Sorry I wasn't very clear. I'm not as bothered with gas, it's more the electricity. There are only 2 things that will cause that, so it's down to me to stop using the heating/hot water as much.

gas will be different story - you will probably need a meter exchange for a meter with a pulsed output and a collector to collect the pulses

Can get devices that read the digits on the meter display but prove very unreliable

alertme.com

CT around incomer and gives power usgae and also cummaltive consumption with their own dashboard

Ct connects to an RF - receiver plugs into your broadband hub and its sends data to the web for you to see

That looks like it's possibly only per appliance. Doesn't say you get the whole house one.

My dad has a wattson, the novelty soon wears off.

Most suppliers will send an energy monitor for free. nPower sent me a cheap looking one when I moved in.

None of them do gas though.

My gas and electricity bill has just gone through the roof. After questioning it, it seems that it could be valid.

I'd like to start monitoring the usage, I see there are various gadgets that help with this.

Can anyone recommend one? EDF sell the one below for £69.99, not sure if there's a premium for buying it through EDF though.
