Does it need more grass or more grass plants?

if it's the first, then a good dose of nitrogen every few weeks will make it grow more probably about 120kg per ha of Nitrogen.

From memory, and it's been a while, grass needs about 2.5kg of nitrogen per ha per day. if you aren't feeding it now, then adding more plants i.e. sowing more will do fuck all.

But if you have no grass to start with, plant a decent mix of meadow grass and over sow as to improve grass density and discourage weeds.

If you are only doing a small area like 2 acres do it by hand, any bigger and i'd bring someone in with a fert spreader.

Cheers mate  Also could you ask her if regular chain harrowing is worth doing? Have a harrow and a tow car just not sure

Being turned out onto at the moment but its split into 3 parts with rotational grazing on it so plan was seed 2/3 parts and then seed the final 3rd when the other grass has grown a bit more and then rotate more frequently to prevent poaching.

Edit also this is the first year it has been grazed on in years if that makes any difference

Need to get my field seeded to get the grass to come through a bit better.

When is the best time of year to do this and is it worth fertilising aswell?
