Fan should go on/off yeah.

What actually went pop? The breaker/fuse for the socket or the fuse in the plug?

If the breaker tripped. Put it back on and plug something else in. If it's fine then it's a dogey fridge.

I think the old one not working and this one going pop sounds like a coincidence

Bit of a weird one here, My mums fridge freezer stopped working last week still sounded as it was working but wasnt cold enough so she orderd a new one from comet it come today, plugged it into the same socket as the old one and the socket went bang..

Ive no fooking idea whats going on, what do you guys recon?

Theres a fan on the back of the new one that cuts off and on? meant to do this? :boggle:
