i like patio's but obviously they're very hard and not the nicest things to lay/sit on. never had decking before but it's really nice. requires staining every once in a while yes but i prefer the finish and feel.

only downsides are bird shit can be difficult to clean off once it's dried off and you get splinters if the wood breaks anywhere.

relocated my hose pipe outside this wek as the moron who owned the house previously decided to put it in the garage, meaning water leaked everywhere.

also bought a hozelock auto rewind hose which is brilliant. my old normal one used to tangle up all the time but this doesn,t you just pull it til it clicks and it stops, then pull again and it'll rewind.

it also rotates 180 degrees which is ideal if i need to use it out the front.

spent the weekend buying yet more flowers and pots to make it all look nice and summery.

painted the garage door and bought 2 hanging baskets which cost a bomb, and put my outside wall clock up and got the barbecue out.

also spent more on pots and plants.

need to sort my grass out and also a washing line as our current one looks crap.

Be carefull with what yo buy. My old boss used some decking paint on his and made it extremely slippery.

Just have a look at what there is before you buy it.

I want decking. :(

I just painted all my fences with Ronseal one coat, BnQ were doing massive tubs for £12 with 20% off. Got two tubs for about £20 and it did loads of panels. Ill update my garden thread this week.

Bit different for decking though,a dark mahogany(sp) stain to match the furniture would be nice

here is my decking:

whats the best product to use on it? it looks tired and crap at the moment and needs sorting out ready for summer.

pics would also be great cheers.
