couldnt tell you what kind of joint tbh

basically just cut an angle so both sides met flush then checked a bit out each side to fit the cross member in then 2 bolts in each side

made it big enough so we can put a swing on the other side for the other half aswell

Well it was my daughters first birthday on friday, seen as i am skint i thought i would make her a swing

Got the timber through work and mum was buying the chair so only cost me £10 on bolts and bits :)

Anyway, designed it on CAD at work after looking at a few different pictures and found some free plans

So set to work last weekend cutting the four legs to size

then decided to change the plans slightly to make it easier to construct

got it all stuck together before it was bolted and realised it was a bit bigger than i thought  will last her a while

So once it was all cut i painted it all with some fence paint i found in the shed

Took it up to the house and started bolting it together, luckily my brother and his wife popped over with a present and gave me a hand, good job as i was struggling to lift it all before it was bolted together so i could drill all the holes

anyway got it all together and put in the garden

finished article, could do with another lick of paint

Just realised i dont have my memory card

will upload pics tonight

All in all pretty chuffed with it :D
