Originally posted by Cosmo For anyone actually, and really, living off £30 a week for 2 please post up what a typical weeks shopping would be a whats a weeks diet would be.
Morrisons on Tuesday night 3 x 1l 'M' Orange juice £2 M Korma Sauce 98p M Milk 86p (they dont have the 75p 2L there so we spent £1.50 in Tesco buying 2 of those) M diet lemonade x2 80p Pack of peppers £1 Carrots 87p Button mushrooms 73p Stir fry sauce x3 £1.50 M Jam 99p Onions 45p Wine Gums 66p (half price) Clemintines 62p Mini Doughnuts on reduction 45p Veg Stir Fry £1 M Frosted Flakes x2 £3.24 M Honey Nut Flakes £1.75 M Trim Flakes £1.99 2x Rice Crispy Bars £3 Warburtons Bread 1.29 Tweezers £2 (one off purchase, normally substitute this money for some reduced meat that goes in the freezer) M Value Eggs £1.45 Comes to just under £30? Just buy expensive things like chicken and beef etc on reduction, if you get lucky they will be reducing it to 75/80% when you walk in the shop. Some weeks it will be more than this when I have to buy dishwasher tabs but again I buy those when they are on offer, our Tesco was having a stock clearance thing to make some space in the warehouse so I got 4 packs of Finish 3in1s for £4 less 10% staff discount, so £3.60, made it something silly like 4p per tab  Shop sensibly and it doesnt have to cost the earth  edit - you will also notice there are no ready meals on there - while they say they serve 2, what it means is it will serve 2 babies, the portions are shite, which means you need to get a ready meal per person, and they can range from £1.50 for the cheap ones up to what, £3/£4? for a Tesco Finest something like that?!
