I used to have a little veg patch in the garden here where we grew garlic, raddishes, carrots and squash but I had to move to Spain and my flatmate got to eat most of the crop lol. This year I've been growing some chilli plants all from seed cos it seemed like a good idea at the time, but I now have a mini forest in my bedroom

They have been outside for the last month ish but the weather was really bad last week and a few got damaged so ive brought them in again until it improves. I also have 16 little jalapeņo plants in the garden, no idea what im gonna do with all the chillis cos it looks like there will be about 30 on each plant! At least the big ones are tapas chillis so you eat about 20 at a time as a dish. :D

If you brewed your own beer you would be truley self sufficient.

The vegetables are a giant ruse for having a drinking shed.

I've actually thought about a chicken coup  as John just said to me on msn if I could grow tennents from seed I'd never leave my shed :look:

For you....tatties :P

No but seriously, tatties carrots and leaks are easy starters, watv=ch oujt for potato blight though. nasty thing, get it once and you will struggle to ever grow tatties again. Courgette (sp) can be grown to impressive sises and you can compare with other people....:o

Right I've been reading up a lot about these and I've sorted my patch out the back, weeded it all and put compost in. First one is 11 feet by 3 feet, there are another 4 or 5 but I'd rather start small and then expand if need be.

Has anyone got any experience of them or any tips etc before I go and source some seeds and stuff tommorow?
