I wouldnt add membrane atall, Because it rots and comes to the surface eventually , Aslong as you dig the borders over and de weed just scoop out some earth and replace with wood chips, Little hint if its a big area go to a saw mill and ask them alot cheaper than buying bulk bags, | |

cool :) Project for tomorrow to dig it all up. I have a end of the garden which is really low and sloping, so ill use the extra soil to make it a bit more level. | |

Yea id add membrane, although i did read bark is brilliant at preventing weeds. | |
